CHARACTER INFORMATION

NAME: Mion Sonozaki
CANON: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
CANON REFERENCE: Wiki
CANON POINT: Episode 20 of Gou; just when the group is about to leave Hinamizawa.
CRAU HISTORY: n/a
AGE: 19
APPEARANCE: Here. She also has a demon tattoo on her back--while the tattoo design seems to vary on medium, as the original anime and the manga use pretty different designs and don't show the whole of it, I tend to go with this design that I commissioned that is based off the canon description and images of her tattoo out there, for consistency's sake.
CONTRACT PAYMENT: To return home to Hinamizawa and have continued happiness for herself and her friends.

QUESTIONNAIRE:

( all questions are answered IC. )

  • What does family mean to you and who do you consider a part of your family?
'Family', huh? It's pretty complicated, if you ask me. There's my parents, granny, and even Shion... and all the other Sonozakis out there. When I was younger, I used to live with granny. Some might say it's a little sad, or that it's a little unfair.

To me, my family's real important.

And it's not just 'obligation as the heir' or anything like that.

Shion's always been real important to me, as my other half, my twin sister. As for my old folks, I guess you could say that they were pretty tough for going against granny like that! Ahaha!

In the end, though... we're circling back to the first part of the question, huh? What do they mean to me? The world. They're the people I can go back to -- my home. And I'm proud to call myself a Sonozaki. I consider myself lucky that I have a family, especially since there are so many people who didn't get a life full of loving parents, or even have them alive today.

  • What is your favorite diversion? Hobbies, indulgences, vices? Would you put off important things for that diversion, or would you be more strict about how you spend your time and/or money?

I'm the president of the games club, so it's obvious that games are my favorite thing to do! But they're not so important that I'd put off important things for it -- but rather... I use them to give people something to be happy about when they're not. But I will admit that a little investment is worth it... heh heh heh.

  • An enemy of your faction has asked for a meeting, proposing a truce of sorts to deal with a greater threat. On one hand, there is indeed a threat at hand, but on the other, this person double-crossing you is just as likely an outcome. Do you agree to the meeting? Do you trust them?

I agree to the meeting. Of course, that is not to say that I won't be cautious about it, but at the very least, it is important to hear out what they want to say, as well as see if they truly are willing to go through with the truce.

Of course, if they double-cross us, then that is something that will be addressed with the higher ups. After all, a traitor shouldn't be forgiven so easily.

  • What are your greatest regrets, if you have any? What would you have done differently?

My biggest regrets... I don't really like talking about them. To be honest, they've happened so long ago that I've mostly moved on from it.

But... if I had to do something different, I suppose I would have just not made the choice I did. However. It's because I made this choice that I got to meet Kei-chan, and Rena. That the club exists. So I suppose that even though I might have regrets...

      I can still move forward.

    POWERS & ABILITIES:
As a mostly normal human, Mion doesn't exactly have much in the way of supernatural abilities - her canon states outright that she can recall things if a looper (one who travels through various alternative worlds) that has close connections to her keeps on going into 'new worlds' that have her soul in it. Basically, what this means is that she can potentially remember things from her past lives with a proper trigger.

Outside of that, Mion is a leader, through and through; being having been a leader of games clubs for many years as well as being the future head of her own family. Because she's a games club leader, she's rather skilled at games - primarily various tabletop/card games - and being able to cheat at them in various ways.

She's also a rather good strategist, using various guns and even martial arts. Also, since she's a twin, she can also act and pose as her sister. Mion is also a really good cook, too.

SUITABILITY: Mion Sonozaki is the heiress of the Sonozaki family, which is explicitly described as a "yakuza" family. Because of her family's long history, she knows all about the darkness of her family (and therefore, her village's) past: which includes extreme gruesome violence and torture--something that Mion herself has both had to watch her sister do and even inflicted it upon herself.

And because of her history, as stated above, she knows how to defend herself (and is also an apt strategist and rather observant) when she needs to and is very well aware of crime and treats it seriously as needed.

Drugs have also been brought up in her canon--primarily as part of experimentation. While it is something that Mion is less keen for, it isn't something that she is naive about, or unaware of. She has also canonically partaken in alcohol during parties, too.

And as for the whole sex part, Mion canonically makes a lot of perverted jokes and is arguably the most perverse female of the Higurashi cast to the point that she can easily banter about lewd things with Keiichi.

    FACTION SUITABILITY:

    Shuten.
First of all: Mion is a club leader for games and has been as such ever since she was a child. In her games club, she always makes sure that there are stakes to be had to spice things up and continue to make things interesting. She's skilled in a variety of games that deal with gambling, mahjong especially being the big one.

Also in terms of sports, Mion prides herself on her athleticism, and the games that she's run are not just simply board games, but a variety of sports as well--from running to baseball.

    Tamamo.
For better or for worse, Mion does flaunt her assets quite a bit (and she has quite the assets) and isn't afraid of flirting with people at times, although they primarily tend to be for jokes. She's also worked part time jobs at various places, one which includes Angel Mort, which is a waitress cafe that has rather skimpy uniforms. And while she does have confidence in herself and her physical appearance, she is also on the shier side of things sometimes, too.

    Sutoku.
Mion prides herself on being entertaining and never boring--she doesn't like keeping things stagnant in the slightest bit. In terms of finances, however, Mion isn't exactly the best at math and the like, but given that she's being raised as basically a yakuza boss, it's definitely something that she's learning.

    Enma.
Truthfully, this is probably the one that Mion is least suitable for. While Mion herself does have her own personal sense of justice, she's never liked the law enforcement--a large part of that being how the police have treated her as a criminal over the years. She really isn't interested in working for the police, although she would certainly work alongside them, as now that she's older, she knows that they need to cooperate in order to keep things safe.

TDM, but if that's not enough, here is a secondary thread from the last game she was at, taken from the same canon point.
